Why innocent people die is something we wish to understand. In our world, trauma frequently confronts us. Just turning on the news will do it.
Most days, some sort of disaster is on the news. Earthquakes, fires, floods, tsunamis, wars. As well, we see accidents and murders where innocent people are harmed. On the surface. if you seek justice in our world, you are likely to be often disappointed. But there is a deeper story here that can help you cope and understand what is really going on.
Usually, we feel compassion for people trapped in various disasters. The Twin Towers in New York and the Grenfell Tower in London are memorable examples.
Punishing perpetrators is one method of gaining a some sense of justice. Unfortunately, this does not necessarily mean relatives or others find lasting peace.
If we look at a snippet of the Grenfell tragedy, you might feel grief, sadness and anger. During the fire, a thirteen-year-old girl sent a text to her friend: “We are not going to make it. I love you.” She died soon after. We cannot easily feel at peace with this if you take the short view. This young girl lost her life just when it was about to really begin. How can we find justice in that?
We cannot know anything deeper about this girl, but we can look at what Michael Newton Institute practitioners are finding all around the world. These practitioners take their clients into regressions where the client can contact lost loved ones. Over sixty thousand people have experienced life between lives regressions where this process can take place. During these sessions, we discover why people die and why some of us have short lives. There are spiritual reasons why innocent people die
Learning to deal with loss
Often, people who lose loved ones are learning how to deal with loss. For example, one woman lost her first child from a miscarriage. Not long after, she lost her father from a heart attack. A year later she lost her mother to cancer. Earlier in life, she had dreams of losing her mother, and that prepared her to some degree. Of all her losses, she coped best with the last. Because of the dream, she felt grateful for her mother while she was still alive, making sure her mother felt loved and cherished. This meant she had no regrets. During her life between lives regression, she met her deceased parents. Reconnecting with her, they were filled with joy, and congratulated her with doing so well with her life’s purpose. Her major life purpose was learning to accept loss and find peace.
Developing compassion
People lose loved ones to develop compassion. During a past life in the early nineteenth century, a client lost her beloved child. Devastated, she never recovered, avoiding any emotions and cutting people out of her life. During many past lives, she continued to shut down emotionally. Within her, she carried a strong self-protective energy that avoided any pain. Then, she became become hard and controlling.
However, in her current life, she again suffered the loss of a child. All of her repressed emotional pain finally surfaced. Now, she found it impossible to shut down, having a complete emotional breakdown. She grieved greatly, and gradually opened up emotionally. From expressing her grief, she softened. Now she is learning to be less controlling and more compassionate.
The unplanned lesson of suicide
People lose loved ones through suicide. Usually, this death is very painful. Although it can be a great risk, suicide is never part of our life plan. Most people who suicide are struggling with the demands of being physical in this hard earth “school.” Spirit never judges. Suicide is a choice. Naturally, the person who suicides must return to continue their lessons. The suicide life is still a lesson. Adjustments can be made next time. Obviously, the suicide of a loved one hurts deeply, and we can be greatly tested. However, we do not need to take suicide personally as an affront. Just the same, when they pass over, the person who suicides confronts the pain and suffering they cause to their loved ones. They can see it and feel it. This experience can help them choose differently in a subsequent life.
Why innocent people die
We have discovered some principles about death to help you understand why innocent people die:
- The soul of anyone who dies has agreed to their death. Some agree before they incarnate. Others decide to leave at the time of their physical death.
- Once we surrender and let go of our body, death is beautiful.
- At death, we feel relief, peace and happiness.
- Those who leave early to help others grow are having what we call a ’gift life.’ In that particular life, their main purpose is for others’ spiritual evolution, not their own.
- When our loved ones pass, the love between them and us continues. Spiritually, they are still with us.
- Suffering at the end of life is minimal. People who jumped off the Twin Towers never hit the ground. Those burnt in fires felt nothing. As soon as they realise death is inevitable, all automatically leave their bodies
- Even with the most horrific death, each person is encased in love and replenished. Please listen to podcast 27 for more details.
Once you deeply understand that our lives and our deaths are purposeful, dealing with loss can be a little easier. Naturally, you still need to grieve, that is part of being human, and is how we release emotions. Eventually, your higher self is calling you to move past the shock and horror to see the larger perspective. There is order in our universe and accepting that truth is wise. Nothing happens without a reason.
